Laura Southcott |

Are you looking for a new heated tobacco stick? Maybe the ones you’re already using just aren’t cutting it - or maybe you’ve heard somebody mention the EVO tobacco sticks and it’s got you wondering what they are, and whether they’re actually any good. Whatever the reason, you’re in the right place. In this blog I’ll be dishing the deets and explaining everything you need to know about the Ploom EVO tobacco sticks, as well as going on to review the best EVO tobacco stick flavours. So, if that sounds like what you’re after, keep scrolling whilst I reveal all!

What are Evo Heated Tobacco Sticks?

EVO heated tobacco are pretty much exactly what they sound like - they’re small sticks that resemble short cigarettes made using the same style of authentic ground tobacco. However, there is a big difference between the two!
EVO sticks aren’t made to be smoked like cigarettes - instead they’re inserted into a heated tobacco system, like the Ploom X kit or Ploom X Advanced. The device then gradually heats the tobacco to a temperature high enough to provide the genuine taste of the toasted tobacco, but low enough to prevent them from burning or combusting. So you get the full flavour of the tobacco but reduced risk from the tobacco as no smoke or tar is released - pretty neat, huh?

What do EVO Tobacco Sticks Taste Like?

As the Ploom EVO sticks use real tobacco, that’s exactly what they taste like - genuine, rich, roasted tobacco with robust flavour that lingers with each puff. This is why EVO tobacco sticks make such a great choice for smokers - not only are they much cheaper and offer reduced risk, but they also taste almost exactly the same as a cigarette. The only real difference is that the heated tobacco is gently toasted rather than burned, giving the tobacco a much cleaner, purer aroma.

Which Are The Best EVO Tobacco Sticks?

Choosing the best tobacco sticks in the EVO range by Ploom is a tricky business, as everyone has their own individual preferences; however, there are still a few EVO tobacco flavours that stand out.

Tan EVO Tobacco Sticks

The Tan Evo heated tobacco sticks are some of the best Ploom tobacco sticks. They taste like a traditional tobacco that’s been merged with slightly sweet caramel that’s complemented by a rich, dark coffee. Every puff of the Tan EVO sticks made me think of sitting, enjoying my morning cigarette whilst sipping on a fresh frappuccino.

The Ruby Evo heated tobacco sticks are another of my favourite flavours in the Ploom tobacco sticks. They’re a crisp, menthol tobacco that’s been mixed with a fruity apple flavour for an aromatic tobacco with a wonderfully fresh feel to it. This flavour makes me think of wandering through an apple orchard on a beautiful, bright summer's day.

Green Option EVO Tobacco Sticks

The Green Option Evo heated tobacco sticks offer a wonderfully clean, pure tobacco taste that’s been infused with a touch of mild mint for an uplifting blend with a good balance between tobacco and mint. The Green Option EVO also contains an optional capsule that releases a potent peppermint flavour when crushed. This distinct flavour gives a feeling similar to how I imagine it feels to stand atop a distant cliff, gazing down over a glacial snowscape - the flavour is really that vivid!

Why Choose Ploom?

With heated tobacco products growing in popularity, you might wonder why you should pick Ploom in particular - well here’s why. Ploom isn’t just another brand - they’re an award-winning company who have been internationally recognised for the quality of their products.
The Ploom X Advanced kit received the Product of the Year Award 2024 for its accomplishments and affordability, beating other heated tobacco brands such as IQOS to the top spot. If this isn’t evidence enough of their excellence, then perhaps you should give it a go and see for yourself?
