Vape Pens

A vape pen is a vape with a shape similar to a pen. They pair a battery, sometimes known as a ‘mod’, with a vape tank or vape pod. This style of vape tends to be a popular choice amongst vapers due to its size, shape and user-friendly interface.

Unfortunately, no. Vape pens with a low power output like mouth to lung vape pens should be used alongside a vape juice with a thinner consistency such as high PG vape liquids. These include Bar Salts and Nic Salts.
Vape pens with a higher power output like direct to lung or sub-ohm vape pens perform best with an e-liquid that has a thicker consistency. The best juices for these are high VG vape liquids such as 70% VG shortfill e-liquids.

Mouth to lung vape pens, which are also known as MTL vape pens, are vapes with a low power output and a tighter airflow. These types of vape pens have been designed to replicate the same sensation as smoking. This makes them great for beginners and first time switchers that used to smoke.

Direct to lung vapes, also known as sub ohm vapes, are high-powered vapes. These vape pens are intended for those that enjoy more cloud production as well as more power. Direct to lung vape pens also tend to have a much looser, airier inhale and are not vaped the same way as mouth to lung pens. 

Vape pens can be very cheap, although not all of them are. They can cost as little as £6, or as much as £20; although most will cost an average of £12 - £15 each. This makes vape pens generally much cheaper than vape kits.

The longest lasting vape pens tend to be those with the largest battery capacities, such as the Innokin GoMax with its 3000mAh Internal Battery.

Vape pen parts are not usually interchangeable. This is because each brand uses different coils as well as different tanks or pods. However, sometimes brands will release multiple vape pens that are compatible with the same pods or coils.

If your pen vapes have a power output of less than 30W we’d recommend that you use them with a 50/50 vape juice - liquid that has a 50/50 ratio of VG (Vegetable Glycerine) to PG (Propylene Glycol). However, if your pen type vape is more powerful it will likely perform better with a 70% VG or higher vape liquid.

The best nicotine strength for your vape pen will depend on whether you’re already used to nicotine, and how much nicotine you’ve used previously. Heavy smokers will likely prefer a stronger nicotine strength of 14mg - 20mg. Moderate smokers (10 - 15 cigarettes a day) might prefer a medium nicotine strength ranging between 9mg - 12mg). Those who were social smokers or smoked 5 or less cigarettes a day are likely to get along better with a 3mg or 6mg nicotine strength.

Several studies have so far found that vaping is generally 95% less harmful than tobacco and tobacco products, including cigarettes.

There are a wide range of benefits and disadvantages to using pen vape kits, like there are with any other type of vape.

Pros:

• They’re easy to use
• Most pen kits are sold at affordable prices
• They require minimal maintenance
• They’re often slim, thin vapes that can don’t take up much space

• Some smaller pen kits often have a reduced battery life
• Some pen kits can be overly simple and lack options for customisation
