Q. What are Vape Pod Kits?

A. Pod kits are a type of vape that utilise plastic pods rather than tanks which feature glass, unlike traditional vaping setups, which come with a mod and separate vape tank. These types of kits are popular amongst vapers due to their smaller, more lightweight design and user friendly interface, as well as the fact that plastic pods are more resistant to damage when dropped. Many kits that use pods are also simpler to use as there are opinions that are inhale activated which lack a button or complicated settings - you just puff on the mouthpiece and it’s ready to use!

Q. How Long Do Vape Pods Last?

A. How long a pod lasts can vary depending on a number of different factors, although they have been known to last as long as 4 weeks. However, for a pod to last longer it needs to be maintained properly - here are a few tips on how to get the most out of your pod.

  • Pair your pod with the correct type of vape juice. A MTL (mouth to lung) style pod should be paired with a 50/50 VG/PG vape juice as this type of pod tends to provide a low power output, it requires an e-liquid that is easier to vapourise. A sub ohm style pod (also called direct to lung) is best suited to a vape liquid with a minimum of 70% VG, as they produce more power and therefore perform best with an e-liquid that is slightly thicker.
  • Use the recommended power settings for your pod. There’s a reason that pods and coils have a recommended power setting - this is because they perform at their best, for longer, when used as recommended. Using your pod on a power level that is too low may prevent e-liquid from evaporating properly, which can lead to a build up of liquid in the centre of the pod that results in leaking. Using your pod on a power level that is above the recommended settings can instead cause the pod to burn quicker as too much power can cause it to overheat, which leads to the coil at the centre deteriorating quicker than it should.
  • Keep your pod topped up with vape juice. If you allow your pod to become too low on vape juice the coil at the centre can begin to dry out, which in turn causes it to burn, reducing the longevity of your pod and producing an unpleasant taste.
  • Make sure your pods are primed before use. Priming your pod involves preparing it before you actually use it - this means ensuring that the cotton at the centre of your pod is completely saturated with vape juice. To do this we’d recommend dropping 5 - 10 drops of e-liquid into the very centre where the cotton is, and allow it to sit for up to 2 minutes so that the liquid has time to soak in.

Q. How To Clean Vape Pods?

A. Whether or not you can clean a pod depends on the type that you’re using; a pod that contains fixed-coil (a coil that has not been designed to be removed) cannot be cleaned as water or soap will damage the coil at the centre of the pod, which could make it harmful to use.
However, if you’re using a pod tank with a removable coil it can be cleaned quite easily. Remove the coil from the pod and set it to one side if you wish to reuse it; the next step is to rinse your pod using warm, clean water. Once you’ve cleaned the pod make sure that the inside is free from residue and completely dry so that it doesn’t interfere with the flavour of your vape juice or cause your coil to deteriorate.

Q. How Do Vape Pods Work?

A. At the centre of every pod is a heating element, usually referred to as a coil. This coil is made up of a metal wire coil or mesh that is surrounded by a cotton wick. As the pod is filled with e-liquid the cotton around the coil becomes saturated, so when the battery powers the coil, causing it to heat up, the e-liquid in the cotton is vapourised which results in a vapour that is then inhaled.

Q. How Often Should You Change Pods On Vape?

A. Unfortunately ever-lasting pods have not yet been invented, which means that at some point you’re going to need to change it. We recommend that our customers change their pods approximately every 10 days to 2 weeks for the best performance and flavour. Pods can last longer than this, but their vapour production and flavour authenticity will decrease with use, eventually becoming unpleasant. A pod should not be used for longer than 4 weeks maximum though as it is made up of materials that can degrade and inhaling the vapour from these pods could have potential adverse effects.

Q. How Many Vape Pods Can You Bring On A Plane?

A. There is no set number of pods that you can bring on a plane as there’s no specific limitation; so long as you can fit your replacement pods in the bag that you use to declare your liquids at security, you can take as many as you like. Just make sure your pods are securely sealed to reduce the risk of your e-liquid leaking during your flight.
