With so many different types of vape liquid for you to choose from, it can sometimes be a little difficult knowing which one is right for you, and your vape. Below we’ve explained the different types of vape juice, what they’re best for, and their unique features.
MTL Vape Juice
MTL Vape Juice (Mouth to Lung Vape Juice) is any type of vape juice that’s designed for Mouth to Lung Vape Kits - vapes with an option for you to vape at 30W or less. There are 4 main types of MTL e-liquid which are listed below.
50/50 Vape Juice, often found in 10ml sizes (although we do sell 50/50 shortfill e-liquids, too), are a type of liquid with an even ratio of VG and PG (50:50). These e-liquids have a thinner consistency that’s best suited to vapes with a low power output, which is why they work best in MTL vapes.
Although 50/50 e-liquids are the most popular type of vape juice for MTL vaping, you can also find 60/40 and 70/30 PG/VG blends, too, although these are thinner than 50/50 vape liquids and may be best for wattages below 20W.
Nic Salt E-Liquid is a nicotine vape liquid that’s made using a special salt-based nicotine formula. These 10ml vape juice are popular due to their smooth, gentle throat hit and their rapid nicotine delivery.
They soothe cravings faster, and more efficiently than other, more traditional types of nicotine, including freebase. Nic salts are often found in strengths ranging from a 5mg vape juice, to a 20mg vape juice.
Freebase vape liquid is another vape juice with nicotine that offers a sensation that’s more similar to smoking cigarettes. It has a harsher throat hit that increases in accordance with the strength of the nicotine, it also provides long-lasting satisfaction as it’s absorbed by the body more slowly.
Freebase vape juices, like nicotine salts, are 10ml e-liquids, but they tend to be available in a wider variety of nicotine strengths up to 18mg, with the most popular being a 3mg vape juice or 6mg vape juice.
Bar Vape Juice, commonly referred to as ‘Bar Salts’ are another type of nic salt liquid, but with flavours that are based on the best disposable vapes. This means that these vape liquid with nicotine offer flavours that are often sweeter and more intense than other brands.
Like regular nicotine salts, Bar nic salts are available in nicotine strengths ranging from 5mg to 20mg nic salts, catering to a wide variety of vapers.
Sub Ohm Vape Juice
Sub Ohm E-Liquids are liquids that are designed for sub ohm vape kits - also referred to as Direct to Lung (DTL) vapes. They feature a higher ratio of VG to PG, making them thicker, they’re also available as a Nicotine Free Vape Liquid that you can add nicotine shots to, if you wish.
A high VG vape juice is often an 80/20 or 70/30 vape juice that contains a much higher ratio of VG (Vegetable Glycerin) to PG (Propylene Glycol). This increases the viscosity of the e-liquid, which means that they require more power to turn into vapour. As a result we recommend using these e-liquids at a minimum of 40W using a sub ohm vape kit.
DTL e-liquids come in a variety of sizes, including 30ml and 50ml, although they’re most commonly purchased as shortfill e-liquid, with the most popular by far being the 100ml vape juice.
Buying vape liquid 100ml at a time is often cheaper and offers better value overall, it also means you can enjoy your favourite flavours for longer.
However, due to the size of the 100ml vape liquid it’s not legal for them to contain nicotine when purchased, which means that anything larger than a 10ml is sold as a 0mg vape juice. These 0 nicotine vape juice can be vaped as-is, or you can purchase nicotine shots separately and add them to the e-liquid to customise your nicotine strength.
