Disposable vapes are very similar to other types of vapes in the way that they work, only that they’re pre-filled with e-liquid, rather than needing to be filled manually.
The battery, which is precharged, sends power to the heating element (coil), as soon as you activate the device by pressing the button - or as most are inhale-activated, drawing on the mouthpiece.
The metal heating element which is surrounded by a cotton wick heats the vape juice to create vapour, which is then inhaled by the user. The majority of disposable vapes are self-contained units with an integrated battery that cannot be recharged. The vape may also have a screen or LED light to let you know when it’s activated, or when it is finished.
What’s Inside a Disposable Vape?
As disposable vapes are ‘all-in-one’ devices, you may not have seen the components inside that make them work. All single use vapes have three elements in common which are essential for them to work.
- Battery - These are usually pre-charged, although some disposable devices, such as big puff vapes, come with a rechargeable battery.
- E-Liquid - They’re usually preloaded with a minimum of 2ml of nic salt vape juice, although big vapes can come with 10ml of vape liquid in a separate pod or refill container.
- Coil - The coil, or atomiser, is often made of mesh for more efficient vapourisation. It’s a built-in heating element that’s fixed in place. The ohms or resistance of the coil can differ, with DTL disposables featuring a higher wattage.
How To Use Disposable Vapes?
Using disposable vapes is very straightforward as they’re the simplest vape on the market. However, if you’ve never tried one before you can follow these simple instructions to learn how to get to grips with them.
Step 1 - Remove the disposable from the packaging, ensuring to peel off any stickers and removing the seals or silicone plug.
Step 2 - Inhale on the mouthpiece - as soon as you draw on the device it will produce vapour which you inhale.
Step 3 - Enjoy!
