When I first got into the vape scene (many, many years ago) there weren’t a lot of options to choose from. The majority of vapes in the late 2000s were either big and bulky advanced vape kits for experienced vapers and enthusiasts, or tiny little vape pens made for those who wanted to quit smoking.
However, in 2025 there are more vape brands and types of vape than ever before, making it difficult to find the e-cig that’s right for you. Especially as different vapers need different types of vapes to fulfil their needs - which is why I’ve done all the hard work for you. Our team of experts have tested dozens of different vapes to bring you the very best vape kits in the UK right now.
In this blog I’ll be doing an in-depth review of the top 10 vape kits of 2025 based on their battery capacity, usability, flavour delivery, vapour production and the quality of their design and build. The Vaporesso Xros 4 is my favourite vape of 2024 and 2025 so far. This lightweight pod kit is compact enough to easily slip into a bag or pocket, whilst also being big enough to feel like a high quality device - and that’s exactly what it is!
The Xros 4 pod kit, as with all of the Xros vapes, offers exceptional flavour delivery. There’s truly no better vape when it comes to flavour - and it’s all thanks to its compatibility with the COREX 2.0 Vaporesso Xros pods! The coil design, paired with the mesh and top quality cotton wick allows for better e-liquid absorption and faster vapourisation, resulting in a mouthful of flavour and a decent amount of vapour, even at low wattage.
The Xros 4 is also incredibly user friendly with a very simple design and minimal settings for you to maintain. The device comes with a simple airflow switch and three different power settings, allowing new and experienced vapers to take control over the vaping experience with ease.
This is a mouth-to-lung (MTL) vape that’s best for those who are switching from disposable vapes or who are trying to stop smoking. Also, as it uses less power, I’d recommend using this vape kit with 50/50 e-liquids such as nic salts or bar salts.
The only downside to this device is its battery capacity. At just 1000mAh, the battery life isn’t the longest out of all of the available pod kits. However, the Xros 4 vapes make up for it with their 2A fast-charging ability. By using a 2A plug or outlet and the provided USB type-c charging cable, you can recharge your Xros device within just 30 minutes.

The GeekVape Aegis Boost 3 is the 3rd in the series and is easily one of the best vapes available. It’s a hardwearing IP-68 rated advanced pod kit with a premium build - a great option for experienced vapers. Its tri-proof design offers water-resistance, dust-resistance and shock-resistance - so no matter what type of lifestyle you lead, you know this top-quality vape can handle it.
This advanced pod kit offers up to 60W of power, and is a great device for those who enjoy pure flavour and pleasantly thick clouds as it delivers both with ease. It’s the epitome of a sub-ohm vape, but is much smaller and lighter than traditional DTL (direct-to-lung) vapes.
The Aegis Boost III has all of the same amazing features and benefits as its predecessor - but is undoubtedly a considerable upgrade. It has a touch-sensitive SMART lock feature that prevents accidental firing. This device is incredibly user-friendly, but may be a little complicated for beginners due to the number of customisation options available. The adjustable power and airflow, as well as the variety of settings for you to personalise mean that I would recommend this device for experienced vapes only.
As well as new safety features, the Boost 3 also boasts an impressive 3000mAh battery capacity. With a battery this big, you can use the device all day long without worrying about needing to recharge it.
Lastly, like the other Boost vapes the Aegis Boost 3 by GeekVape is compatible with all of the B-Series GeekVape coils, making it an accessible option for both MTL and DTL vapers. This also means that the Boost III can be used with either 50/50 e-liquids, or high VG vape juices, depending on which coil you use it with.

The HorizonTech Talons 3 is one of the smallest direct-to-lung pod kits available, and is hands down one of the best vapes! It’s compact, it’s lightweight, and it packs a punch! It’s also evident just from the feel and the design alone that it’s a very high-quality device that will last.
The Talons 3 pod kit offers up to 40W of pure power, and produces the clouds to match - in fact its vapour production is one of its key features. If you’re looking for a small sub-ohm device, you won’t be disappointed by the amount of vapour it creates as it puts many other compact DTL devices to shame.
Despite being both powerful and small, the Talons 3 HorizonTech lasts a surprisingly long time. Its 1500mAh capacity rechargeable battery can easily last the entire day - so long as you’re not chain vaping - and recharges in as little as 45 minutes! So even when you do finally run out of battery, you don’t have to wait long before you can start your next session.
Also, as you’d expect from a sub-ohm vape, the Talons 3 comes with adjustable power settings, as well as a customisable airflow inlet. This gives vapers the opportunity to personalise their experience so that it meets their needs. The Talons 3 device features a rotating wheel/button at the side, allowing you to scroll through your power settings with ease. This feature as well as the sliding airflow adjuster makes the Talons 3 vape very easy to use, which is just another reason as to why I rate it so highly.
As this is a 40W DTL vape, it’s compatible with high VG e-liquids. Pair your favourite vape juice with the refillable Talons 3 pods and you’ll be amazed by the outcome. The flavour delivery is out of this world, and is second only to the Xros vapes. Each e-liquid note is supplied with perfect clarity, ensuring an intense and authentic flavour with every puff.

The OXVA VPrime is another great vape kit and definitely deserves to be in the top 5 best vapes of this year! First of all - the shape. It has a streamlined, curvy shape that perfectly fits into the palm of your hand. This might not seem like a big deal, but it makes the device really nice to hold and use. Its smooth finish also demonstrates OXVA’s high standards and gives the pod kit a premium feel.
Secondly, the Vprime pod kit has an astounding battery for its size. Its built-in rechargeable battery has a capacity of 2600mAh! To put that into perspective, the average MTL & RDTL vapes have between 900mAh to 1500mAh batteries. If that wasn’t enough, it also has a 2A fast-charging capability, too!
Although the user-interface is pretty intuitive and easy to use with the Vprime OXVA, I'd still recommend this device for intermediate and experienced vapers only. It has a whole host of customisable settings, from its 60W variable wattage (adjustable) to its multiple power modes and adjustable airflow. This gives you the ultimate control over your vape and turns it into an all-in-one vape that can be used for MTL, RDTL AND DTL vaping.
OXVA have really outdone themselves with their new coil technology, which is demonstrated with the VPrime vape. The new Unitech 2.0 coils can provide up to 50% more flavour, 45% bigger clouds and a 30% longer coil span than previous OXVA vapes (according to OXVA ~ I have not measured these statistics myself). So even low wattages feel as though they’ve been given a new lease of life with the intensity of vapour provided.
Lastly, the one thing we all want from our vapes - flavour. The new OXVA coils really do provide an unbelievable amount of flavour, making even old vape juices seem fresh and new again. Fill it with your choice of 50/50 e-liquid or high VG vape juice and see what you think!

The Elux Cuberover P1 is such a simplistic, user-friendly vape kit that I simply HAD to include it in my list of the top 10 vape kits of 2025. Although, it’s far from the only reason. As you may already be aware, Elux are one of THE best vape brands in the UK right now, and have been in the top spot for a few years thanks to their high quality disposable vapes and e-liquids. However, now they’ve started releasing reusable vapes!
The Cyberover P1 is a refillable pod kit that’s absolutely perfect for mouth-to-lung and restricted direct-to-lung vaping. It’s got a bit of a kick to it, but is still more than capable of simulating the sensation of smoking with a discreet amount of vapour produced. This makes it an all-rounder for those who prefer a less powerful vape, as well as those considering switching from single-use vapes to something more sustainable.
As well as being easy to use, the Cyberover P1 Elux has a sturdy 850mAh capacity battery, which is able to last for hours at a time. This is great for extended vaping sessions and makes the Cyberover P1 Elux a great companion for those leading busy lifestyles.
Lastly, the flavour from the self-contained refillable pods is the thing vape dreams are made of! If you’ve ever tried an Elux disposable and wanted a vape that could give you the same amount of flavour, the P1 Elux is the one for you. Pair it with your favourite 50/50 vape juice for the best performance!

If you like the Elf Bar 600, you’re going to love the Elf Bar 4 in 1! It’s a top notch pre-filled pod kit that needs almost no maintenance or setup to use. Just slot the Elf Bar pre-filled pods into the device and inhale on the mouthpiece to use it. With its straightforward design and quality build you can see why I’ve nominated it as one of the best vapes.
Not only is the 4 in 1 Elf Bar incredibly low maintenance and easy to use - making it a bestseller amongst new and beginner vapers - it’s also one of the only vapes that holds 4 flavours in one device. Switching between flavours was seamless as all it takes is a quick rotation of the top of the device. With four flavours in one, my taste buds didn’t have time to get bored and every puff felt like a sweet little treat!
Also, those user-friendly pre-filled pods? They’re filled with Elf Bar’s signature e-liquid. This means you get just as much flavour from the 4 in 1 Elf Bar as you would from their 600 puff disposables, or ElfLiq e-liquids! Although as this pre-filled pod vape is based on the earlier Elf Bar vapes, the vapour production is relatively discreet, offering a similar amount to the average MTL device.
As well as offering 4 different flavours in 1, this big puff vape also has a whopping 1500mAh capacity integrated battery! This makes it one of the biggest in the Grey Haze big puff collection. Also, it recharged in less than an hour, so you can get back to enjoying amazing flavour in no time.
Lastly, the 4-in-1 Elf Bar vape offers multiple vape modes - Eco and Normal. Eco mode helped the battery last longer by lowering the power consumption, so I could make the most out of the vape with up to 3200 puffs per device (this is an estimate as I didn’t count). When using the Normal Mode the higher power level resulted in more flavour, but also reduced the puff count to approximately 2400 puffs - again, this is a rough guess as the device definitely doesn’t last as long in Normal Mode. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing though as Normal Mode offered more flavour and vapour - so it’s up to you as to whether you want more puffs or a more intense experience.

The VooPoo Argus A is a compact pod kit with a BIG attitude. It’s full of fantastic features, from its dual-display screens, fun animations and intense flavour. From the moment you open the box and hold the device for the first time it’s clear that VooPoo has put a lot of time and effort into creating a pod kit with a high quality finish that lasts. If you’re looking for something small and stylish the VooPoo Argus A is where it’s at!
The Argus A offers up to 30W of power, which is great news for those who enjoy restricted direct-to-lung vapes! Although, thanks to its adjustable power settings, the Argus A can also be used for mouth-to-lung vaping. This makes it a versatile vape kit that’s accessible to a wide range of vapers, and can be used with an array of high PG e-liquids too.
One of the best features though, is its dual-zone display. With two display screens the Argus A VooPoo provided real clarity when it came to changing the settings and checking on my remaining battery life, making it easier to use overall IMO.
The Argus A VooPoo vape is compatible with a variety of VooPoo Argus refillable pods, each of which uses the latest iCosm Code technology by VooPoo to create amazing flavour and a surprisingly large amount of vapour. Even their high-resistance MTL pods are capable of outputting a decent amount of cloud and flavour.
The only drawback for this device was its 1100mAh capacity battery. The size of the battery, as well as the animation after each draw, reduced battery life noticeably. This shouldn’t be an issue for MTL vapers, RDTL vapers like myself, on the other hand, may need to charge their device after 8 - 10 hours of use.

The SKE Crystal CL6000 is a popular big puff vape capable of offering up to 6000 puffs per device. Unlike other Crystal vapes, it’s a reusable pre-filled pod kit with pre-filled pods that you can purchase separately. One of my favourite things about this device though has to be its snazzy style. It has a modern aesthetic and is available in a huge range of colours. SKE have outdone themselves with the design and quality of the CL6000 vapes.
Choose from a variety of the same fruit, ice and mint flavours as the SKE Crystal Original 600 puff vapes and enjoy your favourite flavours for longer. It’s not just the variety of flavours that made the CL6000 so appealing though, it’s the delivery too. From the very first puff the device delivered plenty of taste, making it a must for fans of strong vapes, and cementing its position in my top 10 best vapes.
The CL6000 Crystal is based on popular SKE disposable vapes, offering a similar amount of vapour and simulating the feeling of smoking. This is a great choice for MTL vapers who want a device that’s cheaper and more sustainable than single-use vapes with similar cloud production.
The Crystal CL6000 is one of the easier devices to use. It took less than a minute to set up and use, as all I had to do was slot the 2ml pod into the 10ml refill, and then insert the assembled refill into the device. After that all that was left was to puff on the inhale-activated vape and it was ready to go!
The only drawback of the new SKE Crystal is the size of its battery. With an 800mAh capacity the rechargeable battery is smaller than average and seemed to need charging more frequently. However, MTL vapers should still get a full day of use per charge.

The Vaporesso Armour G is a robust, durable pod mod styled after the sub-ohm vapes of old. The combination of the weight and materials used give it the feel of a hardwearing, high-quality device that can take a significant amount of damage without breaking.
This dependable DTL device features an adjustable 5W - 80W power output. However, although the battery life is impressive at 3000mAh, it didn’t last as long as I’d have liked when used at the full 80W. After around 6 - 7 hours of use I had to recharge the Armour G, although those using it at 40W or less for MTL or RDTL vaping might find it lasts significantly longer.
Used at 80W the Armour G by Vaporesso produces a respectable amount of vapour that would satisfy any cloud connoisseur and fans of direct-to-lung vaping. However, it’s also a great device for MTL vaping and RDTL vaping and offers a more discreet amount of vapour at lower power levels, with the adjustable airflow enhancing the experience further. As it features variable wattage, the Armour G vape can be used with a wide variety of e-liquids, ranging from high PG nic salts to high VG shortfills.
The GTX coils that come with the kit offer a pleasant amount of flavour without being too intense or overwhelming. Although, if you’re used to using devices like the Xros 4 or the HorizonTech Talons 3, and enjoy the amount of flavour they offer, you might be slightly disappointed by the taste intensity you receive from the GTX Vaporesso coils.
Overall the Vaporesso Armour G was very easy to use with a practical design and relatively straightforward settings. However, I do believe that those with less experience may find the multitude of adjustable settings and customisable options a little excessive. For this reason I’d recommend this pod mod kit to intermediate and experienced users.

Last but not least in my list of the best vape kits of 2025 is the Smok Novo Pro! The Novo Pro is definitely one of the best vapes they’ve released so far with its super simple design and sleek, luxurious look. It’s one of the most straightforward vapes on the market with adjustable settings that are really easy to use.
I knew the Novo Pro would feature in my top 10 vapes after just a few minutes of use, as it was clearly one of the best. Setting it up was easy-peasy as once the device was switched on it selected the correct setting for me as soon as I inserted the pod. This feature makes it a great option for both beginners and intermediate users, as getting the device working took only a few minutes at most.
With a 30W maximum customisable power output this device is best for MTL and RDTL vaping. This became especially apparent once I started using the vape as full power. The kit provided a fair amount of vapour, but not as much as you’d expect from a standard sub-ohm vape, demonstrating that it’s best for RDTL and MTL vaping instead.
As the maximum power is 30W I opted to use the Novo Pro with a 50/50 vape juice. The performance with nic salts was incredible. The flavour delivery was impeccable and the vapour was smooth with a soft throat hit.
Lastly, the 1300mAh battery capacity wasn’t anything to scoff at either. I prefer more powerful vapes, so I used the device at 30W consistently. I did have to recharge the vape in the evening, but I still managed to get roughly 10 hours of use before it needed charging, which was surprising. If you’re looking for an all-rounder that can comfortably last all day long and gives you room to grow, I cannot recommend the Smok Novo Pro enough. Don’t just take my word for it, though. Give it a go and see for yourself!

What to Look For in a Vape Kit
Still not sure exactly what type of vape you’re looking for? Take a look at the information below for an overview of the different factors you should consider when picking the perfect vape kit.
1. Battery Capacity and Longevity
If you vape frequently or are often away from a power outlet it’s important to choose a vape with a long-lasting battery, such as one with a higher capacity (mAH).
2. Maximum Power Level
If you enjoy strong vapes with thick clouds it’s best to select a vape with a higher wattage (W) such as 40W and above. If you’d prefer a vape that feels more like a cigarette, consider opting for a kit with a maximum output of 30W or less.
3. Coil Resistance and Vaping Style
The coil or pod resistance (Ω) dictates the style of vaping. Vapes that use coils or pods with a high resistance (0.8Ω+) are best for MTL vaping. Vapes with low resistance coils of 0.6Ω or less are better suited to RDTL/DTL vaping.
4. Maintenance Requirements
If you lead a busy life you might prefer a vape that requires less maintenance, such as those that use pods with fixed coils or pre-filled pods.
5. Ease of Use

Vape Kits Guide
Confused by some of the terminology? Here’s a quick rundown of the different types of vape kits and devices.
Vape Pens
A vape pen or pen-style vape is a vape kit with a slim, rounded shape. They’re referred to as vape pens due to the fact that they share a similar look with vape pens. An advantage of these vapes is that they’re small, lightweight and portable.
MTL vs DTL
MTL (Mouth to Lung) vapes are designed to replicate the sensation of smoking. They offer a tighter inhale, less power and often come with high-resistance coils or pods.
DTL (Direct to Lung) vapes, also referred to as sub-ohm vapes are a direct contrast to MTL vapes, as they offer a more airy draw and often feature a higher power level and coils or pods with a lower resistance. MTL vapes perform best with 50/50 e-liquids, whilst DTL vapes are better suited to high VG vape juices.
Advanced Kit vs Starter Kit
Advanced vape kits are usually complex vapes with multiple customisation options such as variable wattage, adjustable airflow and a variety of vaping modes.
Starter vape kits on the other hand are great for beginners as they’re much simpler and easier to use, requiring less knowledge and experience overall.
Pod Kits (Pre-filled vs Refillable)
Pod kits are a type of vape kit that come with a pod rather than a tank. The pod is often made of plastic and can be either refillable or pre-filled.
Refillable pods may be disposable with built-in coils, or reusable with replaceable coils.
All pre-filled pods are disposable as they’re pre-filled with e-liquid and feature a built-in coil. They’re made to be discarded once the e-liquid is finished.
Disposable Vapes vs Reusable Vapes
Similar to pre-filled pods, disposable vapes come pre-filled with e-liquid and are fitted with a pre-charged battery. These devices cannot be prefilled and thus should be recycled once they run out of vape juice or power. They’re a quick and easy way to start your vape journey, but can be expensive to use long-term.
Reusable vapes are a much more sustainable method of vaping but tend to require more maintenance as you’ll need to refill and recharge them regularly.
Rechargeable Vapes vs Pre-charged Vapes
Rechargeable vapes, as the name suggests, come fitted with a rechargeable battery, extending their lifespan and allowing you to reuse the vape for an extended period of time.
Pre-charged vapes, such as 600 puff disposable devices, tend to come with a built-in battery that’s fully charged but cannot be charged once it’s run out of power. This is why most pre-charged devices also tend to be single-use vapes.

Whilst the announcement of disposable vapes being banned in the UK in 2025 leads me to believe that we’ll be seeing more disposable vape brands moving away from their classic design and moving towards that of pre-filled pod kits and reusable vapes, there’s really no telling what the year will bring. I am a little bit disappointed that in the selection there hasn’t been included the Innokin sets.
For example the Innokin Kroma Z comes with a very powerful 3000 maH battery fastly charged with usb3, a wide range of coils between 0,28 and 1,6 ohm so both MTL and DTL are possible. The screen is very clear and has a lot of options, the kit automatically sets the right resistance depending on the coil you insert. It is very compact and even on high wattage it lasts for easily 3 days. I highly recommend you try it out!👌😉
