What is E-liquid? Everything you need to know about it

What is E-liquid? Everything you need to know about it

With the increasing demand for E-liquids in the market, people have wanted to learn more and more about them. If you're already an avid user of vapes, you're probably aware of what it is. E-liquid is the substance placed inside the vape pen. It is what provides the flavour and nicotine to the vape you're smoking. However, if you're more interested in learning about the ingredients present in it or the types it has, keep reading!

What is E-Liquid made of?

What is eliquid?

If you're worried about vaping because of the ingredients present in it, you can let your stress go as of right now. The three main ingredients in an e-liquid are propylene glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerin (VG), and flavouring. The nicotine is entirely optional- meaning you can easily get a vape juice without nicotine in it.

  • Propylene Glycol

This is a colourless and odourless thin liquid that is fit for human consumption. It's been used in multiple solvents, medicines, and foods for decades. In the e-liquid, the PG helps in carrying the flavour and nicotine. PG is noramlly thinner than VG, more like water, and is more suitable to Mouth to Lung (MTL) vaping.

  • Vegetable Glycerin

VG is an all-natural liquid extracted from plant oil. Again, it is a clear, odourless liquid with minimal colour. One way that it can be differentiated from PG is through its thickness. This substance is also food safe, as it's been used as a food sweetener and thickener in the past. It greatly helps in producing impressive clouds of vapour in an electronic cigarette. VG is thicker than PG and is more suited to sub-ohm vaping.

  • Food flavourings

Finally, something all of us are aware of. Without the different variety of flavours, people wouldn't pay this much attention to vaping. Whether you want fruity flavours or sweets ones, you can find all of them in the market inside everything such as drinks and sweets.

  • Nicotine

Nicotine is entirely optional in most eliquid, you can purchase nicotine shots in our vape store in 10ml bottles capped at 20mg inline with legal requirements. f you're someone who doesn't want to use nicotine in your vapes, contact us at our vape shop Grey Haze, and we'll guide you on what to get!

What are the types of E-Liquid?

The ever-growing popularity of vape has earned them a massive name in the market, meaning that people are coming up with new types of e-liquids every day. Freebase nicotine, nic salts, and the pod vape kits are a few.

  • Freebase nicotine

freebase eliquid

This is the purest form of nicotine. Free base nicotine is made by extracting from the tobacco plant a concentrated version of the natural nicotine compound you will find in the composition of the plant. This is then distilled and blended with VG and a little PG, and the more you add to the bottle, the stronger your liquid will be. From 3 to 18mg in most cases.

  • Nic salts

nicotine salt eliquid

Salt nicotine is a free base compound that has been neutralized by adding an acid to the alkaline mixture, this results in a smoother throat hit and a faster acting release of nicotine in to your system. Salt nics mostly come in 10/11mg and 20mg, but you can find 3mg to 5mg options out there. Buy the nic salts from our vape shop, Grey Haze.
