Box Mods offer a new way to vape, and many people use them to try sub-ohm vaping for the first time. We present some of our favourite vape mods from over 450 that we have evaluated. Vape mods are an essential component of the collection of any experienced vaper.
Since the first days of vaping, vape mods have improved in construction, performance, and availability of features. However, with technology continually growing and vape mods changing faster than ever, it might be challenging to stay up to date. This is where we step in. You've come to the right place if you're searching for the most recent and innovative vape mods in 2022.
Box mods are meant to be used with an RDTA, RTA, RDA, or sub-ohm tank. They are more powerful and have more features than disposable e-cigarettes or vape pens. A vape mod and tank make vaping much more flavorful, satisfying, and enjoyable than a vape pen or disposable pod. If you've tried and failed to quit smoking with a disposable e-cigarette, a vape mod and tank may be the right choice you're looking for.
Note: Keep in mind that the batteries are not included with the single battery and dual battery vape mods on this list, so you will need to purchase them separately. Although the box mods on our list are regulated (with battery safety safeguards), you should always use a high-quality pair of vape batteries.
5 Best Box Mods And Vape Mods in 2022
We have separated them into two categories: single battery box mods and dual battery box mods. Check out our guidance at the end of the list if you're uncertain which box mod is best for you.

What is a Vape Mod Or Box Mod?
Vape mods come in many different sizes and shapes. They have batteries built in and batteries that can be changed. The latter will necessitate battery safety research. They are also available in wattages ranging up to 300W. More information is provided below. However, its ideal features are:
- Fire Button – (This turns on the mod so that the battery sends power to the tank).
- Battery – (replaceable or Integrated).
- Buttons for wattage adjustment.
- Display Screen – Not every mod has a display screen. Those that do include details such as coil resistance (ohms), power, and battery life.
- Function Button – This button is not shown above, but it is usually below the buttons for changing the wattage. It is used to get to the mod's menu. From the menu, you can change a lot of things regarding your mod.
- USB Charge Port – You should only charge the battery directly in a mod if it has a USB port built-in. External chargers should be used to charge batteries that can be changed.
- 510 Connection – This is where the tank attaches to the mod.
In short, these are the characteristics of a vape mod.
Box Mod/Vape Mod Buying Guide
For New Vapers:
Even if you've seen a box mod with 200W or even 300W of power output, this doesn't indicate it's the most excellent box mod or, more significantly, the best vape mods. Most people cannot use even a fraction of that amount of power.
50-90W is one of the most popular power ranges for sub-ohm tanks available on the market. So there are many ways to determine which device is best for you. First, you need to consider what kind of vaper you are and what you want to do with your box mod.
- Are you looking to switch from e-cigarettes to the Vape Pen (Stick) style?
- Do you use regular mouth-to-lung vape tanks with coils that are 1.0Ohm or more? Tanks like the Aspire Nautilus 2s, the Innokin Endura T18 2/T20, or ones like them?
If that's the case, you don't really need a 200W box mod. Most of the time, these types of tanks don't need more than 25 to 30W of power. Our collection includes vape mods for beginners that are ideal for mouth-to-lung tanks.
There is an advantage to choosing a mod with a higher wattage to go with a low-wattage tank. The battery life will be significantly extended. Notably, caution is required when using higher wattage devices; if you set the power too high, your coils will burn and be destroyed.
Intermediate Vapers:
- Are you using sub-ohm tanks (Horizon Falcon/Aspire Cleito/SMOK TFV)?
- Or do you want to try sub-ohm vaping without building your own RDAs?
If so, you'll need a vape mod that can accommodate coil resistances lower than 1 ohm. The majority of popular sub-ohm tanks use coils between 0.15 and 0.5 ohms. Before you buy a vape mod, double-check the coil resistance of your tank to make sure it will work with it. The product listing will show this information in a clear way.
All of the above box mods can work with sub-ohm tanks. I utilise a variety of tanks, including the Aspire Nautilus 2s. This is primarily used when I'm going out because its performance is good, but it doesn't produce clouds like a sub-ohm tank.
When I'm out at a bar, I certainly don't want to be exhaling massive clouds! 70% of my usage is with sub-ohm tanks between 40 and 65 watts, depending on the tank. This is ideal for me and will likely be the position of most sub-ohm vapers.
Some sub-ohm tanks, like the SMOK TFV16, Aspire Cleito Pro, and Freemax Mesh Pro, come with 0.15-0.3 Ohm Coils, and to get the most out of them, you need to use them at higher wattages, like 50-85W or even 100W or more in some cases. So, if you think you might use coils in this range, make sure the box mod you buy has enough power.
Note: If a coil needs 80W of power, you should buy a vape mod that can fire at 100W or more. Try not to use the mod at its highest wattage. This usually means that the battery won't last as long.
Advanced Vapers:
- Or are you one of the more experienced vapers who almost always uses RBAs, RTA Tanks?
This is similar to what was said above for people who use sub-ohm tanks. You will need a device that can handle low resistance builds and puts out a lot of wattages. But if you are at this level, you probably already know this.
It depends on what kind of resistance you are trying to build. So, make sure that the mod you buy can handle any low-resistance build you might use. Again, you can find this information on a product listing.
