The SKE Crystal range explained
Crystal Plus — the main replacement for Crystal Bar
The Crystal Plus is SKE's answer to the disposable ban. It's a rechargeable pod kit that uses prefilled pods, so you get the same pick-up-and-go simplicity as a disposable but without throwing the whole thing away. Each pod comes prefilled with nic salt e-liquid and slots into the battery unit magnetically. When the pod's empty, you swap it out and carry on.
In our experience, the draw on the Crystal Plus is very close to the original Crystal Bar. Tight, mouth-to-lung, no fiddling with settings. It's the device we recommend most often to customers switching from disposables because there's practically no learning curve. The flavour range is extensive too — SKE have brought across most of the popular Crystal Bar flavours into the pod format.
If you're after a prefilled pod kit that doesn't require any filling or coil changing, the Crystal Plus is the obvious pick from this collection.
Crystal Bar nic salt e-liquids
Not everyone wants a prefilled system. If you already own a refillable vape kit or you'd rather have more control over your setup, the Crystal Bar nic salt range is worth a look. These are 10ml nicotine salt e-liquids based on the original Crystal Bar flavour recipes.
Same flavours, different format. You get the Blueberry Sour Raspberry, the Lemon & Lime, the Watermelon Ice — all the ones people actually liked. And because they're standard 10ml bottles, they work in any compatible device. We've found they perform best in low-wattage pod systems and MTL tanks, which is what they're designed for.
The nic salt formula means a smoother throat hit at higher nicotine strengths compared to freebase liquid, which is exactly what ex-disposable users tend to prefer. Available in 10mg and 20mg options.
Crystal 4in1 and CL6000
SKE also make prefilled devices aimed at vapers who want variety or higher capacity.
The Crystal 4in1 comes with four prefilled pods in different flavours, all included in one pack. It's a good option if you can't decide on a flavour or you want to try a few without committing to full-size bottles. Each pod gives you roughly 600 puffs, so you get around 2,400 puffs total from the set. The device itself is rechargeable via USB-C.
The CL6000 sits at the higher-capacity end. It's a prefilled device with a larger e-liquid reservoir, rated for up to 6,000 puffs. Think of it as being in the same territory as big puff disposable alternatives, but from SKE specifically. It's rechargeable and comes prefilled — no setup needed.
Both of these are designed for convenience. If you don't want to deal with refilling or changing coils, they deliver on that.
Crystal Bar vs Crystal Plus — which one's right for you?
This is the question we get asked the most. The short answer: they're different products for different needs.
The Crystal Bar name now refers to the nic salt e-liquid range. You buy bottles of liquid and fill your own device. More cost-effective long term, more flavour choice, works with hardware you might already own. You do need a compatible rechargeable kit to use them.
The Crystal Plus is a self-contained pod system. You buy prefilled pods and click them in. Simpler to use, slightly higher running cost per ml, but zero maintenance. Closest experience to an old-school disposable.
If you're coming from disposables and want the least amount of change, go Crystal Plus. If you already vape or you're happy to learn how to fill a pod, the Crystal Bar nic salts are better value and give you more flexibility.
Why Crystal is still popular post-ban
The disposable ban caught a lot of vapers off guard. Brands that didn't adapt quickly lost their customer base overnight. SKE were ahead of most — they had the Crystal Plus and their nic salt range ready before the ban even landed. That's partly why the Crystal name still carries weight in the UK vape market.
The other reason is flavour consistency. We've seen plenty of brands launch "inspired by" e-liquids that taste nothing like the original. SKE's own Crystal Bar nic salts are genuinely close to the disposable versions, because they're made by the same company using the same flavour profiles. It matters.
