Disposable vape pens are growing in popularity because they offer so much more flexibility than a full reusable vape pod or pen. It's also great for travelers as they don’t need to lug around any sort of equipment that might arouse hard-to-explain fluids in the form of oils, at border checkpoints. It's convenient and much less worrying when you go disposable. But how much is a disposable vape pen going to impact your lifestyle as a smoker or as a vapor? Let’s find out.
It's the cost
No matter what you like to smoke, whether it's raspberry oils, strong vape pods or mellowed-out pens, it all leads back to cost. It's always about the money! A good vape pod that will last you around 1-2 years, could cost you anywhere from £50 to £150. Add to this the cost of charging it, refilling it and labor costs of cleaning it, it can add up in time and money. But the great thing about a vape pen is, it's all enclosed in one package. The oil, pod and sometimes a small 700MaH battery is all enclosed in one disposable kit. You don’t need to worry about refills, or charging, etc. The cost of the pod can be anywhere from £2.99 to £7.99. This is considerably less than you would pay for a full vape pod kit.
More in-line with habits
What puts people off from vaping is, the hassle that goes along with it. Much like when you go to a bar, you just want a drink. You don’t want to wait around for the barman to open a new barrel, attach it to the pump, clean out the pipes and then pour you a pint. You just want it now, because you want to hang out or relax without any fuss. That’s why disposable vape pens are more in line with your current habits. Smokers will find that it's quicker and easier to use a disposable vape than using a vape pod. The access to the vape is immediate, no waiting around and when you're done, throw it in the trash; much like stubbing out a cigarette.
By far, a disposable vape pen is more portable. A vape pod can weigh up to 250g. That’s like having two smartphones in your pocket. It's also a drag to actually pack in your suitcase. You already don’t have as much space as you’d like, and your tablet, charges and headphones need to take priority over your vape pod. All the more reason why a small disposable vape pen with a 20g dose of nicotine salt e-liquid, makes sense. Once you use it, you toss it away, making your suitcase lighter. Vape pens are also very slender, so they can fit into tight spaces. This is great for travelers who are backpacking across the world and need all the room-saving they can get.
Vape pod kits are great for the home. You can sit around reading a book and vaping to your heart’s content. Cleaning your vape pod may not be an issue at all. But, when you are traveling or at work, you don’t have time to be fiddling around with a vape pod, opening it up, washing it in the toilet sink at work and trying to dry it and put it back together again. All this hassle!; surely this is when even the most ardent vape pod enthusiast has to admit defeat? A disposable vape pen is far more convenient as there is no cleaning involved, whatsoever. As you can imagine, this means you have more time for vaping and less time spent on cleaning or refilling a vape pod. Once again, when you’re finished with it, throw it away.
Keep it simple
A disposable vape option is far more alluring to someone trying to quit smoking, than buying a full vape kit. This is because you have to do your research if you are intending on buying a kit. It has to suit your demands, different brands have different designs, use different materials and have reputations for good or bad designs, etc. When you are using a disposable vape pen, you know what you are getting. They are all of a similar size and form factor. It keeps vaping simple, and thus, easier to make the switch from smoking to vaping. It's an all-in-one, super-compact vaping pen.
It’s all rosy?
The short answer is, no. Disposable vape pens are not for someone who needs a high amount of nicotine as per their habit. The vape pens don’t have an option to lower the nicotine dosage, so they might be too strong or too weak depending on the person. And, because the strength can’t be selected, this can mean it becomes more addictive than one would hope. If you buy them too often, the cost can wrack up, so you may as well buy a full kit if you are a heavy to moderate vaper/smoker. Last but not least, it's obviously not so good for the environment. Disposable vape pens are a bit of waste. The plastics used and the internal materials are used in a throw-away package, so it's harder to recycle them.
Suitable for whom?
It's ideal for heavy smokers so they can mix and match vaping and smoking when they can. In this way, it's a great way to wean off smoking and transferring to only vaping. It can help to stave off nicotine cravings when you use a disposable vape pen and combine it with perhaps a smoke here or there. The trick is to merge the two habits together and then allow the dominance of vape to slowly edge out cigarettes. As you can tell, disposable vape pens are great for beginners, whether smoker or not.
