Capturing Vape Photography

Capturing Vape Photography

Vape photography has become an integral part of the vaping culture. Capturing vapour in all its glory through atmospheric and artistic shots has romanticised the classic purpose of the e-cigarette and is helping the push towards a quirky, artistic, distinctive and skilled lifestyle.

 We personally can’t get enough of vape photography and are mesmerised by the surreal and insanely imaginative images that are born out of vaping inspired photography. We’ve compiled a list of our favourite photographers so that we can share with you handful of their spectacular images.

We’ve now updated this list for 2020 and included 2 new incredible macro photographers. Vaping has changed a lot since this blog was first created and one of the areas it has changed exponentially is coil building and macro photography!

All of giikon’s images follow a particular style: crisp, clear and atmospheric. Unlike a lot of vape photography, giikon’s photographs aren’t abstract but very strong and well defined making the images incredibly pleasing to look at and easy to digest. High resolution and perfectly framed images are his trademark and we can’t get enough of his perfect depth of field!

@killronin

Killronin’s photographs are dark, mystical with an edge of dreamlike and surreal elements. The reoccurring use of masks and anonymous faces creates a very impersonal and enigmatic vibe that gives the images an intensity not seen in other photographer’s images. The slightly magical (and somewhat creepy) nature of the images are what keeps killronin’s loyal band of followers forever wanting to get lost in more.

Similar to killronin’s photographs, anonymity features heavily in the gallery. The vapour is the focal point of nearly every image, taking up a lot of the frame and creating a strong contrast to the mostly gloomy backgrounds. Dark clothing on all the subjects seem to be imperative for creating the style and ambiance of each image – dark, moody and sinister.

@miniteshi
Followers: 15.7k
The favourite subject for miniteshi’s vape photography is the vapour itself. Whilst many other vaping photographers focus on people or the specific product alongside the vapour, miniteshi puts the concentration almost exclusively on the incredibly photogenic and atmospheric vapour. These stunning photographs truly capture vapour in all its glory with high resolution, perfect composition and beautiful colours.

Breanna Hulett, who uses greyvape as her Instagram pseudonym, is relatively new to the world of vape photography but so far as created some of our favourite shots yet. Breanna uses a variety of techniques and styles to generate a dynamic gallery of images that reflect a variety of dimensions of the vaping lifestyle from unnerving shots of people in animal masks to breath taking landscape images.

Parallel_Wires is slightly different to the other photographers we’ve seen so far in that he mainly captures his spectacular coil builds! Mastering macro photography these shots are simply stunning, and show you intricate coils builds as you’ve never seen them before. With all black background your eye is instantly drawn to the coil.

Crazy.coils.1200 is another macro photographer, specialising in shooting his jaw dropping coil builds, truly pushing the limits of the art. He adds colours to his shots not seen in many other coil builds almost making them pop out the screen. His type of build combined with low angles and black backgrounds reminds of the predators spaceship!

We’ve been inspired by every one of these photographers and have taken elements of each one to bear in mind when we’re creating our own photographs. If you don’t already, follow us on Instagram to see some of what we’ve been getting up to in the studio and how we feel the vaping industry should be portrayed through a lens: https://www.instagram.com/greyhazeecigs/
