Compact, durable, and packed with features, the Voopoo Drag S2 Vape Kit is designed to cater to a wide range of vapers. The Drag S2 is the latest in the VooPoo Drag range, and features a similar look with a new fashionable flair. The S2 Drag boasts quite a serious improvement on the Drag S both in terms of looks and performance, as I'm about to explain.
Firstly, although the battery capacity is the same as the previous model at first glance, the S2 appears to last longer - this is due to its eco mode which automatically kicks in when your vape is starting to run low on battery. The Eco output mode is designed to preserve your battery's power until you can find an outlet to recharge your device - it does this by lowering the initial wattage of each inhale before gradually raising it back to the wattage of your choice, which lessens the overall power consumption of the device.
A common but no less useful feature of the Drag S2 is its Smart output mode; Smart mode allows the device to automatically adjust the power level of the vape based on the coil that you’re using. So every time you disconnect and reconnect your pod the S2 will adjust the power level accordingly and set itself to the optimal wattage for your coil, ensuring better performance and longevity from your coils. This is a feature that we often see in smaller MTL (mouth to lung) pod kits that are compatible with multiple pods, and is incredibly useful if you don’t want to mess with your settings or adjust your own setup.
The RBA mode is the output type for the enthusiasts and those who know what they’re doing through experience. The RBA output mode allows you to fully customise your power levels to your own tastes, although it does have the drawback of also allowing you to set your vape too high or too low for the coil that you’re using, resulting in coils that burn too quick or e-liquid that doesn’t vapourise as expected. As such we’d suggest that you stick to Smart Mode if you’re unsure as to what wattage is best for you.
Unlike other vapes in the Drag range, the S2 and X2 are no longer compatible with the standard PnP coils and have instead been released with a new coil - the PnP X. Whilst the new VooPoo PnP X coils can last up to 90 days per pack of 5 coils and do offer better flavour than the previous generation, it is a bit of a blow to the Drag S2’s compatibility. However, all is not lost as there are still 4 different coils within the X PnP range which gives you the option of either MTL vaping, RDTL vaping or DTL vaping. With a variety of vaping styles available you can also use a number of different types of e-liquid with the new Drag S2, which gives you evben more options to play with in order to customise your kit. Lastly, the S2 Drag vape also features a new pod - I know, another one - the PnP X pod tank. The new PnP X pod features an adjustable top-airflow inlet which reduces the risk of leaking and also offers a smoother, cooler vape experience. The airflow is fully adjustable, so you can adapt the airflow to make it either as tight or as loose as you want in order to meet your needs. The only downside to the new pod is that it’s a bottom-fill system, which means you need to remove the pod from the device in order to refill it. Overall though, with its sleek, pocket-friendly design and phenomenal flavour, we has no choice but to list the Drag S2 kit at #2 in our list.

At #3 on our list is the OXVA Xlim SQ Pro, one of the newest Xlim vapes to grace the industry. Not only does the SQ Pro perform better than any of the previous Xlim models, it’s also been packed full of upgrades and exciting new features.
Boasting a generous 1200mAh capacity battery wasn’t enough for OXVA, they took it a step further and incorporated 2A fast charging that allows the vape to reach a full charge within as little as 45 minutes. The new high capacity battery also appears to possess improved efficiency as OXVA claim that its battery is able to last for up to 3 days on just one full charge. This brilliant battery eliminates any worry about your vape dying mid-day, as three days is more than enough time for you to find a charging outlet to top up when your vape eventually needs it.
Another stand out feature of the Xlim SQ Pro is the inclusion of a 0.96inch TFT colour screen. The screen is also important for those that are interested in changing the power output as the screen allows you to keep an eye on your power level as you make adjustments.
Similar to the Xros Pro, to change the SQ Pro’s power level you need to press the button 3 times in quick succession until the numbers on the screen begin blinking - once they’re blinking you’re able to change the power setting (up to a maximum of 30W) by pressing the button repeatedly until you reach your desired wattage. Once you’ve selected a wattage, remove your finger from the button and wait for the numbers to become solid again.
As well as adjustable power, the SQ Pro kit, like the Xlim devices before it, features an adjustable airflow that can be personalised by simply sliding the switch from one side to the other. The combination of customisable airflow and variable wattage means that vapers can use this device for both mouth to lung vaping as well as restricted direct to lung vaping, depending on their preferences and their pod of choice.

Lastly, but definitely not least - is the Xlim SQ Pro replacement pods; which is basically all of the pods, as the Pro can be used alongside all Xlim pods, from the original, through to the V2 and V3 pods. Although not the Xlim C. This gives you a whole host of different options both in terms of the wattage that you vape at, and the way that you refill your pods.
The V3 Xlim pods are ‘top-fill’ pods, although their fill port is actually located on the side of the pod, towards the top. The V2 Xlim pods on the other hand are bottom-fill pods that have to be removed from the device to be filled with vape juice; although both styles are compatible, so it’s down to personal preference as to which you prefer to use!

The Vaporesso Luxe X Pro Vape Kit is the next step in the Vaporesso Luxe collection; it has the same futuristic feel as the previous Luxe vapes, but there’s just something about it that feels better than the others. However, you can’t judge a vape by a feeling alone, and there are multiple reasons as to why the Luxe X Pro is #4 on my list of the best vapes. So let’s take a look at why.

Firstly, I love the fact that the X Pro Luxe is cross compatible with multiple Luxe X pods as well as coming with its own pod that allows you to choose between the various GTX coils if you want to. The Luxe X pods are best for vapers who seek convenience as well as amazing flavour, as they feature mesh fixed-coils the Luxe X pods provide amazing flavour and vapour production, but are much less hassle to use as there’s no need for messy coil changes; when the pod burns out after a week or two, just throw it away and slot the new one in.
The X Pro/Luxe XR pods on the other hand allows vapers to choose from an even wider selection of coils, the DTL Luxe XR is compatible with both the 0.4Ω and 0.6Ω GTX coils, whilst the MTL Luxe XR pod can be used alongside the 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, and 1.2Ω coils. See the table below for a better understanding of which pods are suited to which coils.

The second reason the Luxe X Pro made it to the fourth spot on the list is the sheer variety of settings that Vaporesso have packed into such a small device. It has an adjustable airflow control mechanism as well as adjustable power and bonus features such as being lockable too. To lock the vape in order to prevent it from accidentally activating whilst in your bag or pocket press the fire button 3 times quickly and you’ll see a locked padlock icon appear on the screen. To unlock the vape press the button quickly another 3 times and the vape will show an unlocked padlock symbol.
As you may have noticed, I’m a massive fan of versatility when it comes to vaping - I believe vapers should be given the option to either modify their settings so that their vape suits them, and their own personal style of vaping, or they should be able to simply slot in their (filled) pod and vape away at the press of a button or with as little as an inhale. The Luxe X Pro by Vaporesso allows vapers to do both, whilst also catering to the different styles of vaping too.
The adjustable power (from 5W - 40W) paired with the airflow customisation means that this vape can be used for every type of vaping, from MTL to DTL and everything in between, the different coil and pod types as well as changeable power allows for both. This adaptability also means that vapers can keep using their favourite e-liquid too, whether it’s a nic salt liquid or a high VG shortfill, either can be used so long as you’ve plugged in the correct pod or coil!
The last reason as to why the Luxe X Pro ended up so high on my list is because I was pretty impressed with its 1500mAh battery; at 30W the battery lasted for most of the day (around 10 hours overall) which is pretty impressive considering other vapes I’ve used over the years last as little as 4 hours when consistently used at higher wattages. Aspire has been a household name amongst vapers for over a decade; and with good reason. They’re known for producing some of the best quality vape kits, especially when it comes to starter kits. The Cyber X demonstrates Aspire’s willingness to think outside of the box to provide vapers with products that they didn’t even know that they wanted; equipped with a 1000mAh battery that can provide up to two days of usage, this is a pod kit for people that lead busy lives and don’t always have chance to charge their vape throughout their busy day. This is just one of the reasons as to why it’s such a good vape - but the user-friendly design also supports the theory that this vape has been targeted at busy individuals.
Fixed-coil mesh pods are another feature of this fantastic vape and eliminate the need for users to change their coils as they’re built into the pods. This means that aside from refilling your TSX pod when it’s empty, and charging the device itself once every other day, the Cyber X requires absolutely zero maintenance, making it one of the most convenient and compact vapes to be released in 2024.
The pods for the Cyber X (0.8Ω and 1.0Ω mesh Aspire TSX pods) as well as its three different firing modes and adjustable airflow allow users to seamlessly swap between mouth to lung vaping and restricted direct to lung vaping - although I will say that the RDTL vaping is very restricted compared to some other RDTL vapes, so I think the Cyber X is better suited to mouth to lung vapers overall as the inhale may be a little too tight for RDTL vapers to fully enjoy.
The TSX pods are side-filling pods, which means that they need to be removed from the device in order to refill them; whilst this is slightly less convenient than some vapes it isn’t much of a drawback considering the amazing flavour and vapour production that they provide. Pair it with your favourite nic salt or other 50/50 VG/PG e-liquid for the best performance and flavour that lasts.
If you’re into relatively simple, straightforward mouth to lung vape kits that can last for days and will give you the intense flavour and impressive cloud production that you crave shop the Cyber X today, just remember to be aware of the fact that although it is capable of supplying with a restricted direct to lung style inhale it is still better suited to MTL vaping.

At #6 on my list is the OXVA Xlim SE 2 Pod Kit, an incredibly user-friendly pod kit with a sleek, slender design. This stylish device is available in 6 different colours ranging from the distinctive Orange Blue to the understated classic Black. The Xlim SE 2 could have come higher in this list, but its range of features was just slightly too limited for me personally, so rather than coming #4 or #5, it’s instead slid in at number 6.
As with many other modern pod kits, the SE 2 Xlim feartures a new high capacity battery with 1000mAh, which may not sound special when compared to other pod kits with bigger batteries, but the SE 2 is able to last for up to a maximum of 3 days on one charge. This is an amazing feature for those who tend to be a little forgetful about charging their vape or simply don’t have the time for frequent recharges during their busy week.
Another reason I felt that the Xlim SE 2 kit deserved to be on this list is because, like the Xlim Pro which took the #1 spot, the SE 2 has a crazy amount of compatibility. There are multiple options when it comes to pods as it’s compatible with the V1, V2 and V3 Xlim pods, as well as the prefilled Xlim pods too. There’s so much choice it’s astounding; although the SE 2 kit comes with two pods specifically, the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω  mesh Xlim V2 pods.
The 0.6Ω V3 pod is better suited to RDTL vaping, so for the best performance I'd recommend opening your airflow up to allow for a looser draw, more reminiscent of a DTL vape but with less power. The 0.8Ω V2 Xlim pod is better suited to MTL vaping so you may want to close off your airflow intake slightly to achieve a similar inhale style to smoking; both pods are compatible with high PG vape liquids such as nicotine salts.
Although it may seem like just an interesting gimmick to many vapers, the voice notifications are actually incredibly useful. This innovative technology makes the SE 2 an incredibly accessible vape that can be used by all vapers as those with visual impairments can check the status of their device at the press of a button. This is also useful for locations with low lighting or for those that are like me and tend to vape in the dark before sleeping. It’s a nice touch to see that OXVA have thought of the wider vaping community and have catered to all levels of ability, as this is not something you see from many vape brands.
Another reason that the voice notifications are so useful is that this vape lacks a screen which can make it difficult to monitor battery and power levels with any accuracy or precision - however, the voice notifications remove this issue as before adjusting your wattage (up to 30W) you can use the voice notification to check what wattage you’re using so that you know how much you’ll need to adjust it by. It’s not quite as ideal as if the Xlim also has a screen, but it’s better than having to guess how much battery you have remaining or how much power you’re using!
All in all this is a really nifty piece of kit; it has a good battery life, multiple adjustable features that allow you to personalise your puff, as well as accessibility upgrades. If you’ve been searching for an upgrade or are just starting your vape journey, you’re going to want to get your hands on the Xlim SE 2.

The Uwell Caliburn Explorer Pod Kit encapsulates Uwell’s dedication to innovation and their forward-thinking mindset. Not only do they continue to improve upon the original Caliburn design with every kit that they release, but they’re continuously coming up with new ways to push the limits and provide vapers with new and interesting ways to enjoy vaping again.
At #7 on my list, the Caliburn Explorer has earned its place. The Explorer pod has been split into two 1ml pods, each with their own replaceable coil. As well as this dual-pod design, the Caliburn Explorer featured a 4-leaf clover button design that can be used for four different types of activation. By pressing the up button you’ll activate the dual-coil mode, so with every inhale both sides of the pod will activate, allowing you to enjoy both coils and flavours at the same time. By pressing the right hand sign of the button you’ll activate the coil on the right side of the pod, whilst the left button will activate the left coil. If you press the down side of the button you’ll activate the alternate mode, this mode will alternate between each side of the pod with each inhale, allowing you to switch between the flavours and enjoy them both equally.
I also wanted to include this vape in the list because of its 1000mAh battery life, which is the largest in the Caliburn series so far and is capable of lasting for an entire day, regardless of which coil(s) you use it with. Many other vapes will state that they can last for x long, but do not explain that they must be used on the lowest setting or sparingly to achieve that level of longevity, whereas the Explorer simply keeps going.
If you’ve used one of the G series Caliburns previously you’ll remember how vivid and vibrant their flavours are, as well as how much vapour they’re capable of producing (a surprisingly large amount for such a small device) - and you’ll also be pleased to know that the Caliburn Explorer is compatible with ALL of these coils. So not only does it allow you to try multiple flavours with the same vape, but it also does them justice with its high quality coils.
Lastly I was pleased that I could use this vape as both a mouth to lung device or as a restricted direct to lung vape; and that I could switch between the two in a split-second. Although for the best performance when swapping between the two it’s best to rotate the pod as this alters the airflow too, making the different styles of vaping feel more authentic.

Coming towards the end of my list at #8 is the Lost Vape Ursa Pocket Vape Kit; a premium vape kit with a quirky twist. This is a vape kit for those that enjoy making a statement, whether it’s due to one of the 8 unique colour combinations or sitting in public playing a game on your vape, you’re sure to stand out with the Ursa Pocket.
If you’re anything like me the first thing on your mind after reading that is going to be ‘What? Built-in games!?’. That’s right, this is more than just a vape; its a handheld console too, technically. There are three different games that you can play on the Ursa Pocket - one is a virtual pet that you can feed and level up. The second game is a slot machine game - although this one is little more than a gimmick to me as you don’t win anything and there doesn’t seem to be any real point behind it. The third and final game isn’t actually much of a game, it’s more a ranking based on how many puffs you’ve taken on your Ursa Pocket overall, but it’s interesting to see how you compare to other vapers.
With that out of the way it’s time to focus on the most important aspect (in my opinion) battery life! The Lost Vape Ursa Pocket contains a 1200mAh internal battery that’s charged via USB-C and is able to last for over a day (so long as you’re not playing those games throughout the day, too). Considering I’m more of a DTL/RDTL vaper I was pleasantly surprised that this vape lasted all day whilst used on the highest wattage output (30W) - and I believe I'm a relatively frequent vaper too. If you’re like me and prefer bigger puffs and a little more power than the average MTL vape, you might want to keep your eye on this one as it could be the vape for you.
Although the Ursa Pocket vape does feature an adjustable airflow, I have to admit that there didn’t seem to be that much difference between fully open and fully closed; the inhale was quite tight either way, but was just a little tighter when closed. This was a slight drawback for me and is why the Ursa didn’t make it higher than the #8 spot on my list.
However, the Ursa cartridge pods and Ursa Coils more than made up for my slight disappointment in the airflow; the Pocket Ursa comes with both a 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω fixed-coil mesh pod. Both of these pods had absolutely phenomenal flavour when paired with nic salts, and they were very consistent in their vapour production too - there was no stuttering or stopping and starting which I’ve come across when testing vapes in the past, just smooth, consistent clouds. Even better than this though is the fact that the Ursa Pocket is also compatible with the Ursa 2ml pods, which gives you the option of switching out the fixed-coil pods for pods that allow you to replace the coils whenever you want.

The Smok Mag Solo Vape Kit is an advanced vape kit  coming in at #9 on my list! Smok can sometimes be a little hit and miss with their kits, but in the last year they’ve landed back on the scene with a bang! One of the best things about the Smok Mag Solo Kit, aside from its sophisticated style and huge range of colour options (17 so far), is that it caters to a wider range of styles. From mouth to lung all the way through to direct to lung (sub ohm), the Mag Solo can do it all, and it does it with flair.
There are a number of ways that Smok have gone about making sure that the Mag Solo caters to all different vapers and styles; one of these being the fact that the Mag Solo mod features an adjustable power setting with a maximum power output of 100W which is more than enough power for both Mouth to Lung Vapers and Sub Ohm enthusiasts.
However, the introduction of the new T-Air Tank that comes with this incredible piece of kit is one of the best parts. The T-Air tank, which is compatible with the TA Coils makes full use of the adjustable power with coils that have been designed to be vapes as low as 20W or as high as 70W. This new tank also features a fully customisable top airflow inlet, allowing you to achieve either a restricted draw for a tighter MTL style inhale, or a wide open, airy inhale for big clouds and powerful puffs. It’s not just about the style of the airflow though, by placing the airflow inlet at the top of the tank SMok have greatly reduced the risk of the tank leaking as there’s no gaps or holes at the bottom of the tank for e-liquid to seep through. 
Another feature of the Mag Solo that I really liked is the fact that although it’s a vape kit that takes an external battery, you’re not limited to a single 18650 as it’s compatible with either an 18650 battery or a 21700. For those that don’t know why this is so important, imagine using this kit at 70W all day long on an 18650 battery - you can;t, because the battery simply wouldn’t last long enough without recharging between sessions. However, with the 21700 compatibility the Mag Solo could potentially last longer than a day, depending on the quality and mAh of the battery you use. Smok have really thought things through before releasing this Sub Ohm kit, as they’ve included an adapter in the box that allows vapers to select between the two different types of battery.
Lastly, coming back to the coils - there are three different TA coils that are compatible with the Mag Solo tank, a 0.15Ω, 0.2Ω and 0.4Ω coil. Each of these coils uses high-grade mesh structure within the centre of each coil, which covers a wider surface area, in turn allowing more vape liquid to be heated and turned into vapour in one go. The larger quantity of vapour massively improves flavour as well as the authenticity of the flavour, making for a truly enjoyable experience - so long as you pick the right vape juice.
