OHMS LAW & VAPE SAFETY

When vaping having a ohms law calculator to hand is essential. Especially when using mechanical mods, and variable mods without a screen.

An ohms law calculator will allow you to work out if your build is safe to use with your battery. For example if you have a EFEST 35amp battery and wish to build a 0.2ohm coil on a mechanical mod, how do you know the watts you will generate and the amp?

Not knowing can be dangerous as you could go over your batteries recommended amp limit. With an ohms law calculator we can fill in the blanks with the above example. Simply enter 0.2 for your resistance and 4.2v for you voltage as we are assuming our battery is fully charged, the calculator will then work out the rest giving you an amp rating of 21 and watts of 88.2.

These results show us we are well within the batteries safe amp rating. If you have a box mod such as the ATB or E-RAY which does not have a screen, you can enter the voltage you wish to set your device at and your coils resistance, this will then tell you how many watts you are drawing and the amps, as these devices generally have a limit of 10 or 16amp. This will allow you to set your build and voltage without damaging your device.
