Mark Todd, or better known as ‘the shed dweller with a dog and a webcam’, is our brilliant feature for person of the month! We were lucky enough to get an exclusive interview this vape enthusiast, but incase you have crossed paths with Mark yet, we’ll give you the lowdown…
Mark began vaping in 2012 with a little Riva 510 battery and a carto, but swiftly moved on to the bigger and better. He started playing with rebuildables and vaping with mechanical mods - next thing you know he’s building a shed at the bottom of the garden and becoming a somebody in the world of e-cigarettes! Mark does video reviews and has made quite a name for himself - especially because his iconic set-up involves his awesome pup TJ.
THE QUICK FIRE INTERVIEW
GH: Hey Mark, so let’s get down to business - how long have you been vaping for?
MT: March 2012 was when I started, started with a RIVA 510 battery and a cartomizer, the day I started vaping was the day I stopped smoking and never had a fag since!
GH: Before you were vaping, how many cigarettes were you smoking a day?
MT: Between 20 - 30, Menthols.
GH: How many people do you think you’ve helped come off traditional cigarettes?
MT: I really do not know, I work in a vape shop as well so have converted a lot there, if it was just one through the reviews, it would all have been worth while.
GH: How long have you been reviewing products for?
MT: The Britvapes 6ml pyrex glass tank review which I reviewed on the 12th of April 2012.
GH: What’s your favourite Modbox at the moment?
MT: Currently it is the Mushroom Mod 26650 Squonker, just love it to bits.
GH: How many Modboxes do you have at home?
MT: 24 Box Mods consisting of Squonkers and regulated devices, I also have around 20 Mechanical mods. These are ones I have collected over the past 4 years, the mechanical ones are my personal favourites and most of the regulated ones are older mods that I have picked up 2nd hand once they have gone out of fashion.
GH: What’s your favourite bit about being a part of the vaping industry?
MT: The community! Meeting fellow vapours and also talking to them online, also the amount of good that I see various vaping groups doing. I never saw this in 30 years of smoking but the vaping community does so much for charity it is just mind boggling the amount they raise!
GH: How do you feel about the TPD?
MT: As I said my job is in a vape shop so the TPD has the potential to really affect me, not just a hobby. I do believe that there should be regulation of some kind in place, especially when it comes to e-liquid. I do think that the way it is being implemented is terrible, I would be amazed if they actually consulted with any vapours as a lot of the proposed rules are just crazy!
GH: What effect do you think the TPD will have on the products that you review?
MT: I do not think it will affect what I review at all, not for now anyway!
GH: Do you see yourself reviewing vaping products forever or will there be a time when you call it quits?
MT: As long as my Mum keeps watching then I will keep making them! Haha, but kidding aside, as long as I keep enjoying it and people watch then the show will go on. It's become such a large part of my life now, it is hard to imagine not doing it. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that tunes in and watches the reviews and puts up with me and TJ on a weekly basis, couldn't do it without you!
